April 15, 2005 | LOGAN -- A Logan
man was arrested early this morning near his home on
suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol,
driving with a denied driver's license and driving with
a child not wearing a seatbelt.
A cashier at the L.W.'s on 1000 West and 200 North
reported to police that the man was repeatedly purchasing
alcohol between 11 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday, and
that the man had a child in the car with him.
A Logan police officer stopped the suspect on Threepoint
Ave. for a seatbelt violation and smelled alcohol in
his car. The officer then administered a field sobriety
test, which showed the man had been drinking. The man
was then arrested and taken to jail. The child was probably
returned home, police said.
