From the Keep-Your-Eye-on-the-Ball Department:

"In a year when war in Iraq, the threat of terrorism and looming problems with the federal budget and the nation's health care system cry out for serious debate, the news organizations on which people should be able to depend have been diverted into chasing sham events."

No injuries in Logan accident

By Jen Pulham

April 15, 2005 | LOGAN -- Two drivers came through an accident unscathed Monday evening at Main Street and 350 North. Taniel Low, 24, of Logan was stopped in traffic when a vehicle struck her from behind. The vehicle fled the scene after Low tried to make contact.

Aaron Robison, a witness standing on the sidewalk gathered the license plate of the fleeing vehicle and reported it to Officer Darrin Williams. He also informed Williams the direction in which the driver was headed.

The vehicle was located by Low at a residence in Logan. Logan police officers contacted the driver, Garcia Cirildo, 20, and placed him under arrest. Cirildo told the police that he left the scene because he did not have a driver's license and he was scared. He was charged with following too close.

Neither of the drivers sustained personal injuries, but damage to Low's vehicle totaled $1,500 and damage to Girildo's vehicle totaled $750.
